RACE ACROSS AMERICA

The bicycling Race Across America, from the west coast to the east coast, began in 1982 and has taken place every summer for the past 18 years. The route has varied over the years, but is usually about 3,000 miles long. The Tour de France is a stage race, while RAAM is raced continuously. The winner finishes in just over eight days, sleeping only 90 minutes to 2 hours every 24 hours.

DETOURS

We ride, just like you do – to get to work, to keep fit, to have some fun and adventure. But, above all, we just love to ride.
Having the right gear for the ride helps, and shopping for it is, of course, half the fun. But, in our corner of the bicycle world, the touring, commuting, transportation end, the selection is often slim and hard to find.

Our aim is to change that. We are building an online resource for bike touring and commuting. We feel that the Bicycle as Transportation concept is poised to take off, even in a country addicted to oil.

And we want to help you find the gear you need to keep rolling. Whether it’ the daily grind to work, or a full-on summer bike touring vacation, whether you’re on the adventure of a lifetime, or having a lifetime of adventures. We know that you need gear that’s tough, reliable and will go the distance; gear that will take you to the end of the trail or to the ends of the earth.

We have it! And if we don’t, we’ll get it for you, or steer you in the right direction. Just drop us a note, or call us at 800.447.1539 Pacific Time, and we’ll be happy to help you figure out the how, when and where of what you need.
