Rules Update
Friday July 16, 2010 by Terri Gooch
It has just been brought to my attention that I have not stricken every reference to rolling exchanges from the rules.
1. You may not ever EVER do a rolling exchange at night. NEVER.
2. As the retiring racer may not EVER ride backwards on the route, it’s actually very difficult to stage a rolling exchange during the day either.
We’ve come to find that stationary or stopped exchanges function very well, are safe and are fair. So while you may end up doing a slight variation on a rolling exchange during the day, the easiest way to think of team racing exchanges during RAO is with a stopped vehicle, no backward riding on the route, no circling. All forward motion.
Please be aware of this – we’ll go over it again at the meeting. And we’re sticking to our guns. You won’t save time doing rolling exchanges. Really.

It’s the same for everyone, so you’re not losing time, just danger.
