LAC Ultra

Yesterday George and I raced the 12 hour version of the Lewis & Clark 12/24. It was really fun. Part of what made it fun was just racing – we haven’t raced together since RAAM 2004. So it’s been a really long time and I’ve missed it tremendously. The other part of what made it fun was being at a race and not being responsible for anything. It was so great to finish at 645 last night, load everything up and go home. It made me wish more people would step up as Glen has and put on a few ultra events in the northwest. It’s really great to do an event that is only an hour drive away from where you live.

I felt pretty good considering I’ve only ridden about 400 miles this year (and I think that’s being pretty generous!). I think I did between 80-90 yesterday, which would be my longest ride since about 2005 or maybe 2006. Whatever, suffice to say it’s been so long that I don’t even remember. So I’d like to thank Glen for putting on a great event that I can’t wait to go to again next year!
