HELP WANTED

Earlier this week George and I were talking about RAAM – actually George said something like:
“Wow, wouldn’t it be great if you could take some time off this summer and crew for David Holt at RAAM? He’s going to have a great race and he’s such a cool guy.”

I snorted my coffee out of my nose and said “If I could take a week off of work I wouldn’t spend it taking care of somebody else! I take care of enough people around here!” You can see I take my job description of ‘do everything or at least pretend you are’ pretty seriously.

“And besides, if I was going to take a week off and hang out with David and Susan (David’s incredibly cool wife) I would rather have drinks and listen to them tell funny stories.” Because they are totally cool, funny and interesting.

You, on the other hand, might feel differently about crewing this summer. David, who has had amazing finishes at RAO, the 508 and just about every other place he races a bike is going for the 50+ record at RAAM. He needs some crew members. If you are considering racing RAAM in the future and have the chance to crew this summer, this is a great opportunity to see first hand what you are signing up for. David will be competitive, undoubtedly give you great ideas for your own race, and provide a comfortable car seat for hundreds of miles while you crack jokes at his expense.

I hope David is lucky enough to get our entire 2004 crew to write him emails – they were totally amazing. Stuart K. was the excel spreadsheet master – we had time splits for literally every mile of the race – no joke! We had a killer massage therapist, I had the best, the BEST driver with Richie K. I could go on and on – but without them George and I would not have the two person mixed team record and what is, for sure, my best race memory.

If you are interested in a great experience, let me know and I will connect you with David.
