Hello TV Land

Well, we’ve been back almost a week already – and in fact it was a week ago today that we had our last ride in Arizona. It’s been tough to be back in Hood River – we got snow this morning and the forecast is for 9 inches tonight. Yuck. I can’t express just how totally over winter I am. But believe me, I am TOTALLY. OVER. WINTER.

Due to the normal stuff of life I didn’t get an opportunity to ride all week until today. Amelia and I went out for about an hour – which was wonderful. It was cold and there were rain squalls all over the place – but we missed them all and the tail wind back to the car made me feel like a rock star! George has been working a bunch last week too – both Tuesday and Wednesday night at the hospital as well as Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and tomorrow at Full Sail Brewery.

On the way home from Arizona we decided to race two person at the Lewis & Clark 12/24 – in the 12 hour division. We were both totally excited by riding and being away together and we registered before we had a chance to think about it much. I know we’ll probably have a few chances to ride before then (May 25ish) but hopefully it won’t be a blood bath! I am actually really looking forward to it.

PAC Tour was really wonderful. It’s great to be able to go ride for a week and have essentially nothing to worry about. All I had to do was get up, go teach a stretch class, eat breakfast and ride all morning. We stayed at a nice hotel in Sierra Vista – so each day when we got back from riding my room was clean – which is a lot more than I can say about the help around here! I love seeing Lon and Sue – they are just such icons of the sport – and I love to hear their stories. And of course for me there is also a certain aspect of nostalgia. In 1999 I went to my first PAC Tour camp – riding my first ever century. And in 2001 I went to camp and met George. Now I am married and have a child. It’s been a fun ride in between!
