Happy Mother's Day

To all of you mothers out there!

Today has been a great one for me – for some reason George hasn’t had to work too much lately and it’s been wonderful to see him and spend time together. That’s probably been the best Mother’s Day gift of all. We’ve ridden together about 4 or 5 times this week. He has been the big stud and pulled Amelia each time, including two rides up Lost Lake Road – which is, I think, the longest climb you can do right out of our house. I’ve been impressed by his riding – Amelia with the Burley is at least 45 pounds – so it’s power training for sure!

Our RAO Training Camp is coming together well. It starts this Wednesday in Portland at the Pony Solider Best Western. If any of you have the time to ride out to Maupin on Thursday let me know and you can ride out with the campers on the RAO route – well except for the RT 44 part. That part of the RAO route is still covered in snow. I am just thanking my lucky stars that we changed the date of the race to July. Two of my favourite parts of the route are still under about 10 feet of snow. It’s been a long cruel winter this year!

I am hoping that the campers will get some awesome weather – that’s the forecast – but that was the forecast today and it rained during our ride. Crazy Oregon!

My eyes are about to close so I will sign off – Best wishes for great rides!
